The development team at Bungie and publisher Activision are announcing that the preview period for The Taken King content in the Crucible mode is now live in Destiny, allowing gamers to see some of the activities that can be played in the expansion.

In an official blog, the two companies are revealing that the new maps that are featured are called: Memento, Bannerfall, Crossroads, Vertigo, The Dungeons, Frontier, and The Drifter.

Sector 618 is a PlayStation 4 and PS3 exclusive environment that is offered only to those who play on Sony-made home consoles.

Gamers will also be able to take part in both Rift, which features two teams of six players who battle for a Spark that needs to be delivered to the Rift of the opponent, and Mayhem, which offers faster recharge times for melee attacks, grenade energy and supers.

The preview for The Taken King in Crucible will only be live until September 14.

The next day Destiny players will get access to the new expansion, which includes three new subclasses, a new dreadnought area and a wide range of new equipment for their Guardians to use.

Three days later gamers will also get access to the King's Fall raid, which is designed to be the hardest ever included in the shooter with Oryx as the final boss to take down.
