Destiny's servers are now offline as developer Bungie is performing planned maintenance for about 8 hours until around 12pm PDT (7pm UTC). As such, players will not be able to log into the multiplayer experience until that time.

Destiny launched back in September of last year, and since then, the multiplayer shooter has gone through some interesting times, as developer Bungie has released a wide array of updates, alongside two full-fledged expansions.

After having recounted some of the best moments earlier this week, as part of Bungie Day on July 7, the studio is now performing some planned maintenance on the game's servers.

As such, starting today, July 9, at 4am PDT (11am UTC), players won't be able to log into the multiplayer experience as it will be offline until around 12pm PDT (7pm UTC), according to the official website.

Seeing as how there are no new big patches or updates scheduled in the near future, the planned maintenance is probably just to ensure that the servers perform as expected and that players have a great time while trying to unlock the new veteran emblem reward that was announced earlier this week.

Destiny's next big expansion, The Taken King, is set to arrive on September 15, and many different details have already been confirmed for it.
