Activision is helping out those with older consoles

Activision has apparently found a novel way of helping out Destiny fans on PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles with 20GB hard drives - a free 32GB memory stick - as users are reporting that, after contacting the publisher's support, they've received a USB drive to help clear out their hard drives.

Destiny is a massive game, but with its newly released update 2.0, its minimum install size has grown by about 20GB, thanks to the patch's files and the new requirements of the multiplayer title.

As such, Bungie has already warned owners of older PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles with 20GB hard drives that they won't be able to continue playing the game. They were also advised to try and upgrade their hard drives or consoles, but also to try and contact Activision support for help with a solution.

Now, according to GameSpot, it seems that those who are still active in Destiny but have small drives are receiving 32GB memory sticks from Activision, in order to clear out their storage and allocate it all to Destiny.

Soon enough, they'll also be able to install Destiny to the external USB storage, once Bungie releases an update to allow such a procedure. It's unclear when that patch is going to arrive, but you can bet that Bungie will let fans know once it's live.
