The development team at Relic and publisher SEGA are ready to offer the first developer diary linked to the coming The British Forces standalone expansion for Company of Heroes 2, which is set to be released on the PC on September 3.

Quinn Duffy, the lead game designer, is featured in the footage as he talks about the way the British forces fought in World War II and how their real world experience will influence the way they will play in the coming title.

The British Forces content is designed to give gamers options, reflecting the fact that the nation sought to develop both mobility and defensive actions.

Players who get the new standalone expansion for Company of Heroes 2 will be able to choose to become the anvil, which means it will be easy to create solid positions to contain the enemy.

At the same time, the tech tree also supports a hammer strategy, in which powerful units can move quickly across the battlefield to push enemy units into a corner.

The British forces are also getting their own commanders, each of them designed with a tactical approach in mind, and gamers who get the expansion will be able to play against all the other factions in multiplayer, using entirely new maps.
