The development team at VanillaWare and publisher Atlus are announcing that they are working on a new major project, which will apparently be officially revealed in September of this year, maybe during the big Tokyo Games Show where the two companies will certainly have a presence.

At the moment, they are only offering a short and uninformative teaser trailer for the new video game, but the fans are already speculating about the kind of title the two companies might create.

VanillaWare has worked on a variety of titles, including Dragon's Crown and Muramasa Rebirth and has a big reputation among Japanese players and European and North American enthusiasts.

The company has also said that it plans to offer a remake of Odin's Sphere, called Leifdrasir, on new hardware in early 2016, with upgraded graphics and gameplay.

Given the history of the studio, the new title will probably be offered on modern home consoles but might also end up on the Wii U.

More platform details will be offered when the official September reveal takes place.

Atlus has been focusing on the Persona video game series during the past few years and the collaboration with VanillaWare might give the company a new intellectual property to work on in the coming years.
