Konami has confirmed that the Nintendo 3DS card battling game Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival will be released in the west, in Europe on June 26, and in North America in September.

Konami released the game in Japan under the name Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal Gekitotsu! Duel Carnival, and it was especially designed in order to offer a genuine card dueling experience that is similar to that of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game.

The competitive card game is huge all around the world, surpassed in popularity only by the king of the trading card realm, Wizards of the Coast's Magic: The Gathering.

Yu-Gi-Oh! so far includes over 5.5k different cards that players can make use of when dueling and constructing their decks. The Nintendo 3DS game features cards from the latest iteration of the physical game, with monsters from the Zexal anime.

Players can choose from over 40 Zexal characters to play, each of the protagonists coming with their own story for players to explore and progress through.

The game is expected to reach Europe and Australia on June 26, in both digital and physical retail packages. The North American edition of the game will arrive a little later, as a digital-only title on the Nintendo eShop, in September.
