Yasuyuki Higuchi, the president and chief executive officer at the Japanese division of Microsoft, says that the Xbox One home console might have problems on launch as long as it does not get a lot of content adapted to the particularities of the country.

The Official Xbox Magazine translates a statement from the executive saying that, “Xbox One is geared towards a Western lifestyle, and we’re looking at whether or not to launch it ‘as is’ in Japan. We’re still figuring out how to deal with things like music and video services in each country.”

He adds that the National Football League deal that’s so relevant for the American market might not have any impact in Japan.

At the moment, Microsoft has not offered official launch dates for the Xbox One for any territory, but the company has suggested that Japan will get access to the console later than Europe or North America.
