The Xbox Entertainment Studios are developing a half hour series for the new home console from Microsoft that will be based on the life of rapper Nas, although it seems that some details of his biography will be fictionalized.

Deadline quotes sources that say the project is called Street Dreams and will be created by Jamie Patricof and Lynette Howell, whose Electric City Entertainment also worked on The Place Beyond The Pines.

The Xbox One series will be based in the Queensbridge housing complex in Long Island and will focus on the music, the family influences and tribulations of the rap genre.

Jonathan Levine is both writing and directing the new program and Nas is involved in the creation of the story and the selection of the music that will accompany it.

Since the Xbox One was announced, Microsoft has explained that it wants to offer traditional TV content on the device, but so far, no original programs have aired.
