Phil Spencer, the leader of the division at Microsoft working on the Xbox One home console, says that his team is exploring a new feature for the next-gen device that will allow players to share their screenshots using social media channels.

A user initially asked about posting them directly to services like Twitter, but the answer coming from the executive seems to suggest that the array of options will be more extensive.

Spencer also says that more features are on the waiting list and will be added to the Xbox One via future firmware updates.

Microsoft has been delivering one set of major changes for its next-gen device each month, initially testing them on a small number of users before delivering them to the entire install base.

In June, gamers will get support for external hard drives and the company has suggested that it will also enhance the way controllers interact with the user interface.

Early during the month, gamers will also be able to pick up a new retail package for the Xbox One, which will no longer include the Kinect motion tracking system and will sell for 399 dollars or Euro, the same as the rival PlayStation 4 from Sony.
