Larry Hryb, the main community manager at Microsoft, known as Major Nelson, says that the Xbox One home console will receive more game demos as it matures, allowing players to experience the games they are interested in before they actually pay for them.

The information was revealed in a comment thread on his official blog and the executive states that, “It is (and always has been) up to game developers to do demos for their own games. Be more demos for Xbox One as the platform goes forward.”

Traditional game demos have been on the decline since the final years of the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

The Xbox One uses the cloud in many different ways and that could mean that developers have more freedom to cut a small part of their game and make it available in order to show the core gameplay mechanics or the story.
