David Helgason, the leader of the team at Unity Technologies, says that the video game creation suite will offer support for the Xbox One home console from Microsoft before the end of the year, allowing creators to use the advanced features of the device.

He tells The Official Xbox Magazine quotes the developer as saying that his team aims to make sure that a Unity powered game can easily be moved to a variety of platforms.

He adds, “we also make sure you can really make use of the hardware. So if you're running a really high-end device, you want to go crazy with shaders, you want to go crazy with particle systems, you want to really use what is there.”

Windows Store export will also be free in the new version of Unity.

David Helgason says that more than 2 million people are using the development tools and tens of thousands of games have been created using it.
