Microsoft has confirmed a few things about the Xbox One's streaming and playback abilities, confirming that audio CDs are supported, as well as technologies like DLNA or Play To.

Gamers looking forward to both next-gen consoles, the PS4 and Xbox One, were a bit surprised to hear last week that the PS4 won't support things like DLNA streaming, at least at launch.

Microsoft has confirmed to PAR that the Xbox One will, in fact, support streaming technologies like DLNA, but also proprietary mechanics like the Play To one, which is available on PCs using Windows 7, 8, or 8.1.

What's more, it will play audio CDs but it won't support the playback of MP3 files from portable players like smartphones or iPods.

All these features will be available at launch for the Xbox One on November 22.
