The team at Microsoft that handles the Xbox One home console is sending out a limited number of invites to gamers who will be able to preview the coming March firmware update for the platform.

VG247 says that special Xbox Live messages should be waiting in the inboxes of all those who have been chosen.

Microsoft says that the firmware that's designed to improve the matchmaking system and the party features is set to roll out on March 4. A delay is possible, given the problems that Microsoft faced with the previous console update.

The improvements that are coming to the Xbox One are set to prepare the home console for the launch of Titanfall, the first-person shooter from developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts, that's coming on March 11 in the US and two days later in the EU.

Microsoft has promised that it will continue to offer more features for its next-gen device.
