Microsoft has planned for the Xbox One a lifecycle that's longer than 10 years, as the company will keep the console relevant largely through the power of the cloud infrastructure.

The Xbox One is set to debut on November 22 in 13 countries around the world, eight years after the launch of the Xbox 360 on November 22, 2005.

For the Xbox One, Microsoft wants a lifecycle that's bigger than 10 years, according to a statement from the company's Phil Harrison, who talked with GameSpot.

Through the different features and services, not to mention the power of the cloud system, Microsoft is adamant that the Xbox One will stay relevant and that, on November 22, a journey will start that will last more than 10 years.

As of yet, however, the console will have to endure a tough launch in opposition to the PS4 this year and in 2014, when the next-gen devices will debut in the rest of the world.
