The Xbox One home console from Microsoft has managed to become the best-selling video game console on the United Kingdom market for the past four weeks, mainly because of the 30 British Pounds price cut, the equivalent of 50 dollars (37 Euro).

A report from MCV, which quotes unnamed industry sources, says that the launch of Titanfall, the first-person shooter from developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts, also contributed greatly during its own first week on sale.

Retail-based sources also claim that the PlayStation 4 from Sony remains the long-term winner of the current console generation and is presently affected by some shortages.

The company claims that more devices are at the moment sent to the market in order to support the launch of InFamous: Second Son, which was delivered all over the world last Friday.

In just two days the PlayStation 4 has seen a boost of 72 percent in its own sales.

Neither of the two hardware manufacturers has offered official sales numbers for the United Kingdom market.

More information about the overall number of platforms that both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 will be offered when the current fiscal year finishes at the end of March.
