The team at Witch Beam working on Assault Android Cactus says that the parity clause that Microsoft has included in the indie-focused program for the Xbox One will make it hard for some developers to bring their titles to the console.

Sanatana Mishra tells Eurogamer that, “We started development on our other console versions long before self-publishing was an option for Xbox One and the only way we could meet that requirement would be to delay the other versions of Cactus.”

The ID@Xbox program is designed to bring as many indie titles as possible to the Microsoft device in order to make sure that a full list of games are available for fans of the genre.

Chris Carla, who leads the entire indie effort at Microsoft, says that Assault Android Cactus could still be launched on the Xbox One and advised the team to send in an application.
