The Xbox One headset adapter that was confirmed by Microsoft to appear this year and help connect current Xbox 360 headsets to the next-gen console will actually appear in 2014, according to a statement from Turtle Beach, one of the biggest third-party console accessory companies.
The Xbox One uses a new standard in terms of headsets, meaning current devices made for the Xbox 360 won't work with the next-gen console.
As a solution for loyal fans, Microsoft promised that a special adapter would be released for those who want to continue using their headphones this year.
According to a new statement from Turtle Beach, via IGN, however, that adapter won't appear until early 2014. This means that, at least for a few months, Xbox One owners will have to use the bundled headset that's included in every retail package.
