Microsoft's Phil Spencer, the new head of the Xbox division, has confirmed that the Xbox One firmware updates scheduled to appear in June and July are looking really good and that the team is making progress on both system software updates.

The Xbox One was released back in November and received alongside it a day-one firmware update in order to enable quite a lot of key features.

Afterwards, the company took a while to gather feedback from fans and, since February, it's released monthly system software updates to improve various aspects of the console, its operating system, and its many different services.

Work is already underway on the firmware updates scheduled to appear in June and July, according to the new head of the Xbox division, Phil Spencer, who talked about them on Twitter.

While he didn't offer any concrete details about what's included in the new software versions, he did say that they were looking "really good" and that the "team is making good progress."

Unfortunately, not much else is known right now, but you can expect Microsoft to release the new firmware versions to the Xbox Live preview participants for testing and to spill some of the details in the future.
