Phil Spencer, who is leading the first party team that creates new content for the Xbox One, says that he appreciates rivals Sony for their commitment to franchises and for their willingness to take risks on a number of new titles.

He tells The Official Xbox Magazine that, "I really respect their focus on investing in new things and creative things, what they’ve done with David Cage and Quantic Dream around Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain."

The Microsoft leader says he also likes how Sony continues to invest in some franchises even if they never become major blockbusters, because they create more variety on the market.

At the moment the two companies are trying to persuade gamers to buy the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 and the titles associated with them.

Sales reports suggest that the two next gen consoles are at the moment performing well and will move more than 5 million units before the end of March.
