The Xbox One is quite powerful right now and there won't be an additional dGPU (Discrete Graphics Processing Unit) fitted inside the next-gen console, according to Microsoft's Albert Penello.

The Xbox One's power has been seriously questioned in recent weeks, with statements from developers saying that the PlayStation 4 is much more potent than the Xbox One, even with the last-minute overclocks to the GPU and CPU.

New rumors, however, mentioned that Microsoft was able to fit in a dGPU next to its APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) inside the Xbox One, thereby giving it much more power.

This rumor is false, according to Microsoft's Albert Penello, who noted on Twitter that the Xbox One was quite capable of great performance both now and in the future.

He also emphasized that the difference in power that's been reported online had been greatly overstated.
