The development team at Microsoft in charge of the Xbox One home console announces that it is getting ready to launch the official Digital TV Tuner for the console on European markets like the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain in October of this year.

The official Xbox Wire announcement says that the new device will offer them "an over-the-air digital terrestrial TV experience through the USB single tuner, an alternative to accessing TV content from a cable or satellite set-top box connected through the HDMI-In port. The new digital TV tuner will also support free-to-air DVB-T, DVB-T2 and DVB-C television standards."

The price of the Xbox One Digital TV Tuner has been set at 24.99 British Pounds in the United Kingdom and 29.99 Euro in the rest of the countries in which it will be available.

The device will include TV viewing in Snap Mode, pause for live television shows, a range of listings with the special One Guide feature, the ability to favorite channels, tunning via voice for those who have the Kinect device, and on demand elements.

The Xbox One is set to arrive on a number of secondary markets in late September, and recent rumors have also suggested that Microsoft might be getting ready to implement a second price cut for the device.
