A few hits under the console's Blu-ray slot seems to fix the wide spread problem

The common issue encountered by Xbox One owners with the console's faulty Blu-ray drive, which causes it to grind discs, has apparently been solved by one crafty user, who just decided to hit his console.

The Xbox One launched last week in 13 countries around the world and, unfortunately for some of the new owners, a nasty issue relating to the device's Blu-ray disc drive emerged, causing the console to emit some nasty grinding-like sounds.

While waiting for a replacement console from Microsoft, complete with a free game, one user decided to try a less orthodox solution – just hitting the 499 USD/EUR next-gen device.

As you can see in the video above, it actually worked, as the console no longer emitted the nasty sounds and it actually read a Battlefield 4 Blu-ray disc.

Bear in mind that this method is extremely dangerous for the console and you should try it only as a last resort. Your best bet, however, is still to contact Microsoft support and ask for a replacement console.
