Microsoft has officially rebranded the Xbox Live Marketplace into the Xbox Games Store, in order to better align itself with the Xbox Music Store and Xbox Video Store.

The Xbox Live Marketplace has been a staple for Xbox 360 users since the console's release, giving owners of the device access to games, music, videos, and much more.

Now, after the music and video sections splintered off, Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox Live Marketplace will now be named the Xbox Games Store, so that it can align itself with the other online stores.

The Xbox Games Store will also make it easier for consumers to find content both for their Xbox 360 right now and for the Xbox One when the next-gen console makes its debut in November, according to a statement via Joystiq.
