Frontier Developments is making a brand new Xbox One and Xbox 360 game called ScreamRide, set for release in the spring of 2015.

The upcoming game is a "full-featured, physics-based coaster game where creativity and destruction are equally welcomed," according to the official blurb.

The company is currently working on the sprawling space opera game Elite: Dangerous, and it appears that the company is also returning to its long-standing tradition of making rollercoaster games.

Frontier was the company that created the first three Rollercoaster Tycoon games and their expansions, and the series proved to be very popular, popular enough to warrant a return.

ScreamRide is set in the near future, and challenges players to create a "world of thrills," whose potential to generate excitement is measured in the screams of satisfied customers.

The game is said to feature over 50 events and three unique game modes, offering players the chance to fling the cars – including their occupants – off the tracks and into nearby walls, taking down huge structures in the process, and seems to be built like some sort of weird social experiment, judging from the trailer.

The game's trailer seems to depict something similar to the kind of hoops players would jump through when trying to find new ways to murder their virtual citizens in The Sims, only with catapults instead of hoops.
