Dylan Cuthbert, the leader of Q-Games, believes that Microsoft needs to re-invent the Xbox brand in order to succeed on the Japanese market, which is currently dominated by Sony and Nintendo.

He tells Siliconera that, “Their image is too corporate and big. They aren’t geared towards aesthetics and art and I think that’s a big problem.”

The Xbox 720 is set to be revealed in the coming week during an official event, which will feature a look at the hardware of the console and the games that are being developed for it.

Cuthbert believes that Nintendo has a unique style that’s well suited to the Japanese market and that Sony also has a big advantage due to the familiarity of its PlayStation brand.

Q-Games is best known for the development of the PixelJunk family of titles, currently only available on Nintendo and Sony platforms.
