The development team at Firaxis working on the Enemy Within expansion for XCOM: Enemy Unknown is ready to offer more details on the Seeker, one of the new enemy types that players will have to deal with.

In an official blog post, the studio says that the decision to introduce a stealthy flying unit was made after the developers saw exactly how players were approaching the tactical battles.

Firaxis hopes that the Seeker will introduce more terror during regular missions because gamers can never be sure exactly when or from where the creature can strike.

Ananda Gupta, the director working on the expansion, states, "The Seeker’s stealth was initially unlimited, but this was quickly changed to a fuel-like system both for multiplayer balance reasons and so that “hunt the Seeker” didn’t become a problem during abduction and terror maps once it was clear the player had a strong advantage."

XCOM: Enemy Within will be launched on November and includes genetic enhancements and robotic units for both sides.
