Wargaming has released the first ever gameplay trailer for the upcoming maritime warfare simulation World of Warships, showing players some of the exciting action they will be able to take part in.

World of Warships will join its brethren, World Of Tanks and World of Warplanes, Wargaming's other warfare simulation video games, offering a full suite of ground, air and water-based military action.

The game is a large-scale combat scenario simulator, a massively multiplayer online game where players from all around the world come together and try to bash each other's virtual heads in with torpedoes, cannons and air strikes.

Unfortunately, there will be no submarines, as the developers say that it would be too difficult to properly balance encounters. However, you will get to step behind the ship's wheel of some pretty powerful military ships, fulfilling different roles on the high seas.

The video looks quite solid, and if you dig it, you might want to learn that World of Warships is holding a mass play-test event this weekend, from December 12 through December 14. If you're interested in signing up for the closed beta, you can visit the official World of Warships website.

The free-to-play naval action game entered closed alpha testing at the end of 2013, and is now in the beta testing phase.
