Cowen & Company believes that the World of Warcraft MMO from Blizzard will see a solid increase in its subscription numbers for the month of December 2013, showing that the title can still be a long-term revenue creator for the company.

The company also thinks that Activision is seeing a decline in the performance of Call of Duty: Ghosts, the first-person shooter from Infinity Ward, but the loss is compensated by the increase in sales of the new Skylanders, which mixes video game experiences and toys.

Grand Theft Auto V, created by Rockstar and published by Take Two, is also expected to perform well.

The NPD Group will release its sales figures for the month of December 2013 for the United States market later during the week.

The value of the overall market is expected to decline after the increase in sales seen in November, when the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 were launched.
