The Warlords of Draenor expansion was a real boon for WoW

World of Warcraft players will get to enjoy a nice racing mini-game soon, as a newly surfaced video can attest.

The upcoming patch 6.1 for Blizzard Entertainment's massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft is set to add a bunch of neat stuff to the experience, including a selfie stick in the shape of a new toy that enables you to grab screens fashioned in the style of Instagram posts.

Another neat piece of incoming content is a racing mini-game that will be available on the Darkmoon Faire Island, where the main goal is to hit some racing posts with a special mount, as fast as possible.

Gamers will get to use speed boosts and leaping gear to get to the finish line faster, while electrical wire traps will hamper their attempts to get a good time by stunning them for a couple of seconds.

The mini-game's music is a great fit for the theme, and makes the whole ordeal feel like a solo version of Wacky Races of Mario Kart.

Hopefully, this signifies that Blizzard plans to release a more meaty racing mini-game, something along the lines of World of WarKarts, in a future update.

In any case, you can see the mechanics for yourself in the video below, recorded on World of Warcraft's public test realms.
