The development team at Blizzard announces that it plans to introduce a new feature for World of Warcraft called Connected Realms, which will allow gamers that are playing on low population servers to connect to others in order to have a regular game experience.

The two linked MMO realms will work as one, with the players able to join the same guilds, share an Auction House and join the same raids and dungeons with no restrictions.

The team states in the official announcement that, “Our goal with Connected Realms is to give players on lower-population realms more opportunities to group up, compete, and connect with other players to take on Azeroth’s bigger challenges.”

The developers have not yet decided which realms of World of Warcraft can be linked together.

Connected Realms will be integrated via a future patch and the feature is clearly a result of the drop in subscriptions to 7.7 million users.
