The development team at Wargaming announces that it plans to introduce a series of major changes to its very popular World of Tanks multiplayer title all through 2014, designed to improve the overall experience that fans have with it.

A developer diary features a number of the people working on the title explaining how they plan to upgrade the visuals and the core battle mechanics.

Mike Zhivets, the leading producer working on World Of Tanks, states, “Enhancements planned for 2014 touch upon the very core of World of Tanks, and each of them will overhaul the look and feel of the title, inducing the tank combat experience we deliver with a whole new level of realism and immersion.”

Wargaming says that it wants to introduce an entirely new graphics renderer, with more details for each vehicle and a more realistic set of environments.

The physics engine is also getting an update that will deliver dynamic suspensions for vehicles, the ability to blow off turrets of tanks and deliver damage to more parts of the armored cars.

A new metagame feature called Fortified Areas will also be added, with more details set to appear at a later date, and Wargaming is also planning to include a series of historical battles.
