Video game hardware Nintendo is delivering another firmware update for its Wii U home console, labeled 3.0.1, which is apparently designed to boost both the stability of the hardware and to improve system compatibility with a number of titles.

The team is not willing to offer more information and most users who have already downloaded the firmware update say that it is quick to download and install.

Nintendo has pledged to continue updating the core software of the Wii U in order to add new functionality and seek new ways to make the hardware perform better.

The new console has failed to impress in terms of sales during the first three months of 2013, but Nintendo believes that it can sell 9 million devices in the coming fiscal year, helped by big software launches and, potentially, a price cut.
