Criticism against the home console is not based on reality

Chris Arnold, founder of Ping developer Nami Tentou, says that the game creation process on the Wii U is not that different from the one the team has used on the PlayStation 3 and on the Xbox 360.

He states via Twitter that a report that has recently surfaced is wrong when it accuses Nintendo of making it hard for third parties to create solid gaming experiences on its new home console.

Arnold says, “I can safely say that the post release SDK kit given to developers now do not contain any of the listed problems and being an early on developer on any new hardware will pose challenges to those unfamiliar. Programming and coding is most of the time trial-and-error.”

The Wii U is currently facing a sales problem and both big publishers and small indie teams are no longer interested in launching titles on the platform.

Nintendo still hopes that important releases coming in 2014, like Super Smash Bros., will make the console more attractive.
