Satoru Iwata, the leader of Nintendo, says that the price of the Wii U is not a problem, squashing rumors that the company was evaluating the possibility of implementing a cut in the coming months.

The executive tells CVG that, “If the price is actually an issue then there is some contradiction between the current sales balance between the Basic and Premium versions of the Wii U.”

At the moment, the more expensive version of the platform is selling better, which shows that gamers are willing to buy it as long as they have access to solid game experiences.

Iwata says that Nintendo has not managed to deliver enough high-profile titles for the Wii U and plans to change the situation in late 2013 and early next year.

During its most recent financial report, the company revealed that it was still selling the new console at a loss.
