A French retail chain, called Micromania, says that if Nintendo does not manage to turn around its fortunes rather quickly, the Wii U could become a huge problem for those who sell it and create games for it.

Pierre Cuilleret, the chief executive officer and the founder of the company, is quoted by Gamekult as saying that, “If Nintendo doesn't revive its console with games, the Wii U is about to become an industrial accident.”

Apparently, the only Nintendo-made product that has seen a rise in sales during the Christmas shopping period was the 3DS handheld.

At the same time, the video game company believes that the Wii U could become a success in the coming months, probably after the launch of Super Smash Bros.

The Micromania leader also says that the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 have shown promising initial signs and could sustain the industry in the long term.
