Developer 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft have put out a moving new trailer linked to the upcoming remake of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, the game which shows us how the original title in the long running series can look and play ten years later.

The new video belongs in the long tradition of trailers for the Halo series which aim to elicit emotion from fans and potential buyers, choosing to focus on something other than simply showing footage of the game and listing features.

Here a commander of the United Nations Space Command talks about the virtual sacrifices that players have already made during the series, listing famous battles, and saying that war takes life in order to give back heroism.

The new game will offer the same basic structure as the original but with updated graphics, support for Kinect and some reworked levels.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will be launched on November 15 in North America and Europe and Japanese gamers will get it two days later.
