Developer 4A Games has released six brand new, impressive-looking in-game screen captures from the upcoming revised edition of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, dubbed Metro: Redux.

The gorgeous-looking screenshots are taken from the PC version of Metro Redux, showing the fully glory of the remastered visuals, with the post-apocalyptic world rendered in painstaking detail.

In addition to this, the two videos below show a hefty 30 minutes of gameplay from the PlayStation 4 edition of the overhauled Metro experience, in case you're wondering how it looks on the consoles, in action.

The game features greatly enhanced graphics when compared to the original, released in 2010, but the differences between 2013's Metro: Last Light and Metro: Redux are not that noticeable. The Metro 2033 version however benefits from a system overhaul as well, getting all the gameplay mechanics refinements introduced in the sequel, in addition to the visual polish.

Digital Foundry made a quick analysis of the game a while back, showing that Metro: Redux runs in 1080p at 60 frames per second on the PlayStation 4, and in 912p at 60 frames per second on the Xbox One, with frame drops hard to notice and free of stutter.

Metro: Redux is currently scheduled to come out on August 26 in North America and August 29 in Europe, headed to the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
