Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues is Richard Garriott's latest RPG and it represents a “spiritual successor to the EA-owned Ultima franchise.” The veteran game designer has now released a progression gameplay video of this upcoming title.

It seems that Garriott wanted to show the game six months into its development since it managed to reach its goal of $2 million / €1.4 million on Kickstarter earlier this year.

The video is 25-minute long and it narrated by Richard Garriott himself and offers gamers details on player housing, prisons, cities, dialogue systems as well as the early combat system.

Polygon reveals that the title is due for release next October and that it promises to offer “a more personal online and offline experience driven by the sort of gameplay that fans of the Ultima franchise will find very familiar.”
