Remedy Entertainment has offered us the first glimpse of actual gameplay from the upcoming time-bending action adventure title Quantum Break today at Gamescom.

Gamescom is currently underway, taking place in Cologne, Germany, and Microsoft's presentation is offering us a wealth of information on the company's projects for the Xbox One, such as timed exclusive, new themed console bundles and upcoming games.

One such exclusive offering is Quantum Break, a narrative-driven third-person action game where a failed time travel experiment has imbued a select few with time-bending abilities, as well as pretty much doomed the world by making time not work the way it should.

A nice trivia fact about the upcoming game is that Finnish developer Remedy Entertainment actually consulted a scientist who had worked at CERN, in order to make sure that they would write the plot in a manner that would make sense from the point of view of modern theoretical physics.

The video looks stunning, and Quantum Break is by far the most cinematic game that Remedy has ever made, seamlessly blending action sequences with cutscenes and offering an immersive and engaging experience.

In the upcoming game, you will fill the shoes of Jack Joyce, one of the characters who witnessed the failed experiment and gained the ability to manipulate time, and will fight the antagonist, Paul Serene, the precognitive head of a powerful organization called Monarch Corporation.

The game is scheduled to come out sometime in 2015, exclusively for the Xbox One.
