Sony has amended its website, taking down the vaunted numbers

After Sony's North American PlayStation website listed the upcoming action adventure title Watch Dogs as running at the anticipated resolution and frame rate combo of 1080p and 60 frames per second, the discussion regarding the visual downgrade of the game in recent showings has seemed to lose its significance.

Unfortunately, since the weekend, Sony has taken down all mentions of such pleasingly sounding numbers from the website.

Where the page previously read, "Hack everything as you make your way through Chicago’s underground as you experience Watch Dogs in a way that only PS4 can provide, at 60 frames per second in 1080p," it now leaves us wondering what exactly the experience that "only PS4 can provide" is.

The removal of this most probably means that Ubisoft's Watch Dogs will not run at 1080p and at 60 FPS on the PlayStation 4, especially since the developer has not made any official announcements confirming the numbers.

Ubisoft stated earlier this year that the target resolution for the PlayStation 4 edition of Watch Dogs was indeed 1080p, but it has never mentioned that the game actually runs at that level of detail, merely saying that all versions of the game offer the same experience and that both next-gen consoles are being used at their full capability.
