Ubisoft has once again discussed some of the different issues that are plaguing Watch Dogs on the PC platform, confirming that the stuttering reported by many gamers is due to a bug, not due to the poor optimization of the game, and that a few solutions have to do with lowering the quality settings.

Watch Dogs was finally released to the world last week across the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms. While the game did really well in terms of sales, its quality hasn't delighted all players.

This has been especially true on the PC platform, where all sorts of errors, crashes, and problems have been signaled by angry users, not to mention outages experienced by the uPlay online service that's needed for the game to download and start on the PC.

After confirming that a patch is coming soon enough on PC, Ubisoft's Sebastien Viard has revealed on Twitter that the PC stuttering problems are due to a bug that's currently being investigated, not because of any poor optimization done by the Ubisoft Montreal team.

For those who are experiencing stuttering and lag, Viard recommends lowering the quality on settings like Texture Quality, Anti-Aliasing, or Resolution, or even running the game in windowed mode to see if things improve.

Unfortunately, there's still no ETA on when the Watch Dogs PC patch will appear.
