Watch Dogs was released on the PC yesterday, May 27, worldwide and Ubisoft's Uplay service was swamped with users who were trying to download the big open world title, causing its servers to go offline and the whole service to become unavailable.

Watch Dogs has been eagerly awaited by millions of gamers from around the world across the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms, with Ubisoft and its Montreal team promising a sprawling open world that emphasizes hacking besides shooting and driving around in the virtual Chicago.

However, as we reported yesterday, the PC edition of the game is plagued by many different issues and problems, starting with errors and crashes, not to mention texture problems and other annoyances.

While some have temporary workarounds, others are still persisting and, on top of all of them, Ubisoft's uPlay service is being plagued by intermittent outages, likely due to the servers being swamped by all the new Watch Dogs owners, who want to actually download the game they bought.

As such, logging into Uplay isn't always available to all users, while those who manage to reach their accounts see their downloads suspend or stop altogether, likely due to the offline servers.

As of yet, Ubisoft hasn't commented on these issues.
