Watch Dogs on the PS4 and PS3 have received a special video comparison showing off some big differences between the two editions of Ubisoft's open world game, as well as some of the tricks employed by Ubisoft to make the game handle well on the old PS3.

Watch Dogs launches today, May 27, worldwide across the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms and Ubisoft has already made it clear that the best-looking experience is on the PC on Ultra visual settings.

The PS4 follows, as the game runs natively at a 900p resolution and a 30fps framerate on Sony's new console, while the Xbox One is third, as the title runs at 792p and 30fps on that device. Meanwhile, PS3 and Xbox 360 will get the game with even lower graphics settings and fewer features, according to Ubisoft.

Now, YouTube user Jason Knothe has produced a good video comparison between the PS4 and PS3 versions of Watch Dogs, showing off the major differences between the two console generations.

The PS3 edition boasts lower resolution character models as well as lower quality cars or items in the game world. The footage also shows that, in order to improve performance, a lot of extra objects have been eliminated and a much darker image is shown, in order to hide other things.
