The development team at Ubisoft working on Watch Dogs is delivering the first of a long series of videos focused on the gameplay of the title, this one set to reveal more information about the core hacking mechanics.

The team says, "A software bug led to a breakdown of services during the Northeast blackout of 2003, including communication, transportation and power. Now, 10 years later, how much more secure are we?"

Gamers will be able to use the Chicago network in order to intercept a number of communications between individuals, hack computers to control them, get access to personal accounts and redirect traffic.

As Watch Dogs progresses, the skills of Aidan Pearce will increase and gamers can also use the network to get access to a number of side missions.

Watch Dogs launches on the PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U from Nintendo and Xbox 360 in North America on November 19 and in Europe on November 22.
