Watch Dogs, the upcoming action adventure title from Ubisoft, has a special system that creates the pedestrians on the streets of Chicago and gives them different traits and backstories.

Watch Dogs takes place in Chicago and, thanks to his trusty smartphone, protagonist Aiden Pearce can instantly check out the background of any individual he meets on the streets.

According to Ubisoft's Jonathan Morin, the system is a randomized one, as it "generates the look of the person, their backstory and anything that might happen to them."

"We don't control the exact combinations – but that's desirable to the player because they can discover a lot more narrative than a team can craft. The aim is to create a self-contained world," he told The Guardian.

Besides the different pedestrians, Watch Dogs' world can also be invaded by other players via the online system, thereby adding a new experience to the upcoming game.
