Another Civilization: Beyond Earth gameplay video popped up online, showing a massive chunk of gameplay from the first title in the series following mankind's first steps in space.

The upcoming entry in the Civilization series takes places a few hundred years into the future, after a mysterious event known as the Big Mistake forces mankind to find a new home among the stars.

The game will bring a lot of new features to the consecrated gameplay formula, including a tech web (as opposed to the previous tech tree) that allows players to evolve toward different goals instead of racing toward the common ones featured in the historical games.

The gameplay vid comes from YouTube user Northernlion, a pretty well-known Let's Player, and it shows the first 80 or so turns of the game, focusing more on the actual gameplay and decisions that players have to take every turn than on the pre-game options.

The gameplay is accompanied by a rich commentary, with the player talking the audience through every decision and explaining what's going on, while also drawing various parallels to previous installments in the Civ franchise.

Civilization: Beyond Earth is coming out on October 24, headed to PC for the time being, with Linux and Mac versions also in the cards. Pre-orders for the game are already open, and those who opt to get it early will be able to get their hands on some exclusive planets to colonize, based on our closest potentially habitable neighbors.
