A massive thirty minutes of footage from canceled Legacy of Kain game Dead Sun made its way to the surface of the Internet.

The game had been in development for around three years, initially headed to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 home consoles, at Climax, a British studio who also worked on Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China, the upcoming side-scrolling game that will be offered as Assassin's Creed Unity DLC.

Publisher Square Enix decided to give the project the boot back in 2012, when it reevaluated the title's potential commercial success, during talks of having it be a PS4 launch title.

The video shows a significant bit of action, with some cutscenes and some exploration gameplay being showcased, and even goes into some combat sequences.

The gameplay represents a sort of vertical slice demo of the game, most likely created for Square Enix's internal use.

The latest entry in the Legacy of Kain franchise is Nosgoth, a third-person multiplayer arena-based combat game that's currently in open beta, and will be released at a later date as a free-to-play game supported by in-game purchases. The game is actually based on the work laid out for Legacy of Kain: Dead Sun.
