Wadjet Eye Games has announced that the upcoming cyberpunk adventure game Technobabylon will be released on May 21.

The company creates solid, old-school point-and-click adventure games with a distinct retro vibe, achieved through the use of some of the best pixel art in the industry, and now it has partnered up with indie developer Technocrat in order to deliver a dystopian tale set in 2087.

Genetic engineering is running rampant, and the whole city is powered and monitored by an omnipresent AI. A serial killer is tapping into the neural wiring of ordinary citizens, stealing their knowledge and leaving them dead.

Players will follow the story of two agents investigating the murders, and will witness their evolution as they meet interesting characters and surprising events that may alter the future of everyone in the city.

The adventure will show the events from the perspective of three main characters, featuring plenty of heartfelt conflict and conspiracies to unravel, and a lot of humanity behind all the technological props.

Gemini Rue and the Blackwell series won Wadjet Eye a loyal following, and its foray into futuristic themes will most likely be welcomed with open arms by narrative-driven adventure games fans worldwide.

Pre-orders for Technobabylon are now live on the Wadjet Eye website, and the company has also put together a pretty snazzy trailer, available below.
