Mike Bithell, the creator of indie hit Thomas Was Alone, is announcing that his new title Volume will be launched on August 18 on the PlayStation 4, the PlayStation Vita, and the PC via Steam.

The title is designed to offer a modern take on the classic Robin Hood story, with Andy Serkis, well known for his movie voice work, playing the role of Guy Gisborne, a CEO who is dominating a futuristic take on England.

The player will become Rob Locksley, who finds a device called Volume that can be used to simulate heists targeting the corrupt and the powerful, showing them how vulnerable they are.

The game will be played from a top-down perspective, with the player able to see the layout of the level and the various guards that are barring the way to his objective, each with his own pattern of movement and reactions.

Gamers will need to use the stealth of the main character and tools that can distract enemies in order to reach their goals and then get out undetected.

Volume is designed to simulate some of the core ideas of Metal Gear Solid and will be a challenge for players to complete.
