The team wants to have time to polish any next-gen title

Video game developer Volition says that it is not rushing to launch its upcoming Saints Row 4 on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One because it had a bad experience with delivering its Summoner title when the PS2 was first out.

Jim Boone, one of the leaders of the studio, tells IGN that "The big thing for us was, we wanted to make sure we had time to do the game right. Going back in our history, we did Summoner way back in the day as a launch title for PS2 and it was hard."

He says Volition delivered the game on time, but the process was hard on the team and left limited time to polish the experience.

Saints Row 4 is set to arrive on the PC, the PlayStation 3, and the Xbox 360 on August 20 in North America and on August 23 in Europe.
